Jadon Sancho has no intention of playing for Manchester United in the upcoming season, even if Erik ten Hag is no longer the manager.
Sancho has reportedly engaged in preliminary discussions about his future with Manchester United officials after being sidelined by Ten Hag for publicly criticizing him on social media, accusing the Dutch coach of scapegoating him.
Sancho has been on loan with his former club Borussia Dortmund since January, with the loan deal extending until the end of the current season. Borussia Dortmund is interested in extending his loan for the 2024/25 season as well, given his notable performances, including a standout display against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-final first leg, where he contributed three goals and two assists in 17 games.
The rift between Sancho and Ten Hag began earlier in the season when Ten Hag stated that Sancho was excluded from the squad for a September match against Arsenal due to his performance in training. Sancho responded on social media, refuting the claims and expressing frustration at being unfairly singled out.
As a result of the disagreement, Sancho was separated from the first team and eventually transferred out during the January window, despite having two years remaining on his Manchester United contract. Meanwhile, Ten Hag’s future at the club is uncertain, with speculation linking him to Bayern Munich and suggestions that new part-owners INEOS may seek a change in management.
The future for Jadon Sancho seems unclear but we, at the Footy Club, believe that he is a better fit at Dortmund and there is the place where he can go on the next level.
